Part Fitted Boats for Owner Completion 2007

The fitting of a boat requires a great deal of labour hours, which accounts for a substantial factor in the price of a completed boat. Depending on abilities, considerable savings can be made and a great deal of pride in accomplishing the fitting of a boat. We have within the marina at Stenson several bays used by owners fitting out their boats. They are able to draw on advice from our staff and of course the various items required for completion can be supplied at competitive price through the marina chandlery.

All shells have 10mm baseplates, 6mm hull sides & 5/4mm superstructure. Steel plate is certified to EN10 025 (BS43A). Framing and weld quality is in accordance with current industry codes of practice.

Guide Prices for traditional style narrowboat shells

All hulls are supplied complete with stern tube, rear steel door and sliding hatch and anodes. The steelwork is primed inside and out. Two pack epoxy is coated on the hullsides below the waterline. Prices of hulls are quoted ex-works.

Prices of Sealed Shells with windows, doors, engine & ballast installed

The completed steelwork has the windows fitted, together with forward doors so that the boat can be easily secured with the provision of locks. The selected engine is installed in accordance with current safety standards and requirements. Ballast is installed and the engine then run and tested so that the boat is in a state where it can be sailed away for subsequent fitting.

Prices of Lined Shells with windows, doors, engine, ballast, insulation, veneered panel linings, electrical, plumbing & LPG services installed.

Customers can elect for the services to be installed and insulation and lining to be fitted. This allows the owner to be able to start using the boat if required while the internal furniture and equipment is fitted. Boats are provided with documentation in order for the owner to satisfy certification of craft to current safety and regulatory standards.
