Sapphire & Emerald Narrowboats
Proven pedigree of Quality & Value
Our Sapphire and Emerald Boats have earned an enviable reputation for their high quality and reliability coupled to value for money. The original Sapphire was introduced in 1989, with over 500 now having been built. Stenson have been acclaimed with the IWA National Award three times since 1992 based upon this class of boats. Internal layouts have evolved and been refined based upon boaters feedback and the changing pattern of modern boater's requirements. The extensive choice of options provides bespoke boats based upon standard formats, which minimizes the costly development of one-off designs. |

The basic price of the boat includes carpets, spring interior mattresses, upholstered seating in saloon and dinette areas (where applicable). Galleys are equipped with 4 burner cookers / oven & grill and a full size 113ltr refrigerator with freezer compartment. A river navigation kit consisting of navigation lights, anchor and chain is also available as a separate optional extra.. Standard engines are selected from the SHIRE range of diesel engines, proven to be an ideal propulsion unit for the Inland Waterways, although other preferences are available. SHIRE engines are fitted with dual alternators as standard and can be fitted with the Travelpower 3.5kVa 240v AC alternators providing the energy resource centre essential for modern recreational craft requirements. We hold spares and provide service support for the more popular engines used on the Inland Waterways. The main feature between the Sapphire and Emerald craft are their external appearance. Sapphires are traditional or semi traditional style with a mix of windows for the forward cabins and portholes for the bedroom, whereas Emerald Class are characterized with a ‘tug style’ appearance with portholes being fitted throughout. Portholes can provide additional security and privacy - and surprisingly the interiors are far lighter than one would imagine, especially if additional light is obtained with a roof hatch.
